Mexico City is home to a huge number of museums, where you can enjoy some of the best art exhibitions currently in existence.
If you’re currently visiting Mexico City or you’re due to travel there later in the year, you’ll be able to experience and marvel at some of the most impressive artistic exhibitions held in some of the most nationally and internationally renowned museums.
Here is a run-through of the exhibitions due to be held in Mexico City in what remains of 2019:
Appearance Stripped Bare: Desire and the Object in the work of Marcel Duchamps and Jeff Koons
This exhibition displays the most iconic and recognised pieces of artists Marcel Duchamps and Jeff Koons.
The exhibition is held in the Jumex Museum, where it can be visited until 29 September.
Location: Jumex Museum.
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
Price: 30 Mexican pesos for the general public and children under the age of 15. Free entry for students, teachers and OAPs.
Rodrigo Moya’s exhibition, “Scenes”
Rodrigo Moya is a renowned photographer who managed to capture some of the most important moments in Mexican history during the 1950s and 1960s. Some of the most significant moments included the student and workers movements.
This exhibition is held in the Palace of Fine Arts Museum, comprising 112 different photographs of the era.

Price: 70 Mexican pesos for the general public and children under the age of 15. Free entry for students, teachers and OAPs.
Emiliano Zapata. 100 years after his death.
This exhibition pays homage to the revolutionary caudillo, Emiliano Zapata. It is held in the Caracol Museum, giving visitors an insight into the key historical moments of the Liberation Army of the South.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9.00 a.m. to 4.15 p.m.
Price: 75 Mexican pesos for the general public. Free entry for children under the age of 13, students, teachers and OAPs.
40 years of Burbujas
This is probably one of the most enjoyable exhibitions that you’ll visit during your time here. This is a throwback to the childhood of generations of Mexican people, commemorating the 40-year history of television programme Odisea Burbujas. This exhibition will be held in the Antique Toy Museum.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Saturdays from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Sundays from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
