Run Forest, Run: Discover runner gastronomy

Run Forest, Run: Discover runner gastronomy

There’s no denying that the trend towards health and sustainability is growing in popularity. Many people are now creating businesses to cater for customers who are concerned about what they eat, farm-to-table food and the ecological footprint left by their consumption.

One clear example of this is ‘Run, Run, Run’ in Madrid. This is a new venture in the Spanish capital that goes way beyond being a bar or restaurant serving healthy food. This new hip spot belongs to the La Musa group, and its creators define themselves as Clean Eaters.

The CEO of La Musa is a member of Run3 For Future running club, and that’s how the idea came about. But ‘Run, Run, Run’ is open to everyone who wants to follow a healthy lifestyle, not just runners.

THE MENU

The menu has been designed by the chef Taut Repsys, who focuses on low-temperature cooking and raw preparation to preserve the properties of the food, while the nutritionist Andrea Cañas works on finding the perfect balance in each dish.

Organic farms provide the food. Grass-fed beef and organic chicken are used in their sandwiches and main dishes, and sourdough bread is used in all their sandwiches. Their Goodness Bowls come with buckwheat flakes or oats and a mix of fruit and nuts, and the desserts are made in the healthiest possible fashion. Salads, soups and other dishes are also available.

The décor in ‘Run, Run, Run’ also deserves a special mention. The interior was designed by the architect Andrés Jaqué to give a feeling of openness, just like an ecosystem with many layers, and the traditional barriers found between waiters and customers in many restaurants were also eliminated.

The result is a very attractive, hip, eye-catching space, with the added appeal of providing runners with a shower room to freshen up before enjoying their coffee or lunch.

 Enjoy!
