Tech giant Google will inaugurate its cybersecurity center in Málaga at the end of November 2023. The center, called the Google Safety Engineering Center (GSEC), will be located on Paseo de la Farola and will become a key global hub for the group’s cybersecurity strategy. This will be the third center of its kind for the company in Europe, along with those in Dublin (Ireland) and Munich (Germany).

The official inauguration of the center will take place on Wednesday, November 29, and will be attended by Google’s President of Global Affairs, Kent Walker; Google’s Vice President of Security, Phil Venables; Vice President of the European Parliament, Dita Charanzová, and the Director of the European Cyber Conflict Research Initiative, Max Smeets, among others.
Google’s arrival in Málaga is accompanied by significant initiatives driven by public institutions, such as the launch of the Andalusian Cybersecurity Center (to be inaugurated on November 28 at Muelle 2 in Málaga with an investment of 60 million euros) or the recent creation of the first Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence degree at the University of Málaga.
The GSEC will focus on research and development to enhance digital security and protect users against cyber threats. The team will work to develop new technologies and tools to safeguard users against cyber attacks and ensure that digital products and services are secure. Additionally, the center will collaborate with other organizations to share knowledge and best practices in cybersecurity.
