Today sees a new edition of ITB Berlín kicking off in the German capital, a hugely important international tourism trade fair that continues until March 11th.
The luxury market, new forms of exploitation, innovative trends, challenges and opportunities will be the key topics up for discussion at this edition of ITB Berlín. According to the ITB World Travel Trends Report 2017 /2018, luxury holidays now account for 7% of the global travel market, with double-digit annual growth rates.
Growth in the luxury industry is set to be an especially relevant topic at this edition of the fair given that media professionals have now identified the segment as one that is open to a growing number of people and not just those with more spending power.
Nowadays, values like self-discovery, personal experiences, authenticity, and time are what counts it comes to travelling and searching for leisure and entertainment in tourism.
All of this has resulted in a new area at the fair. Loop Lounge ITB makes its debut in collaboration with Loop, the trade show for luxury products, and will exclusively focus on the luxury travel market in the broadest sense of the word. The lounge includes a new platform for networking in an exclusive atmosphere with a select group of exhibitors in Hall 9.
ITB expects to welcome 120,000 trade visitors and 60,000 public visitors. The pavilions will house 10,000 exhibitor companies from 184 countries and regions from all over the world. In fact, 26 pavilions will be used to accommodate the 1092 stands covering a total floor space of160,000m2.
