Visitors who come to Marbella not only want to enjoy its good weather. Shopping tourism has become one of the main growth potential segments in the coastal town, which draws major international brands, and, in fact, Puerto Banús is the third most popular destination for non-EU tourists, only behind Madrid and Barcelona.
Textiles are the most sought-after item by these tourists with a high acquisitive level, who also choose to buy other products such as accessories or jewelry. The tourism sector is increasingly focused on this segment, given the benefits it brings to the commercial network of the destinations and its contribution to job creation indirectly, without forgetting that it is an area that is much less affected by seasonality. These are some of the reasons why the Italian fashion firm Peserico has chosen Marbella and specifically Puerto Banús to open its first store in Spain this May 2022.
The company, founded in the 1960s by Maria Peserico, was a small workshop specializing in women’s pants that in less than a decade became a benchmark in Italian fashion.
Today, the Italian brand is led by the second generation of the family, Riccardo Peruffo, CEO, together with his wife Paola Gonella, Creative Director. On this occasion, from Lookout Pro Magazine we had the opportunity to talk to Riccardo Peruffo, to learn a little more about this European production firm that has chosen one of the most iconic locations in Spain to expand its universe.
