TomTom (TOM2) announced its new navigation device for motorbike riders: the TomTom RIDER 550 boasts several new features that make it faster, smarter and better connected.
The main new features include WiFi updating, meaning no more cables or computers are needed to update the device, which also includes Lifetime Services* (World Maps, Traffic and Speed Cameras). When it comes to planning a new adventure, the TomTom RIDER 550 offers access to TomTom Road Trips – with more than 150 exclusive riding routes available to download. On the road, riders enjoy the new, faster quad-core processor with better performance and a smoother navigation experience, and can interact with their phone via Siri and Google Now™ voice assistants. Smartphone messages can now also be read aloud via a headset**.
TomTom Road Trips has been created to help bikers discover the world’s best routes. Motorcyclists can browse and select incredible routes, personalise them and easily synchronise them with the TomTom RIDER 550. Additionally, thanks to the TripAdvisor reviews on MyDrive, it’s easier for them to plan the perfect route.
As with the previous models in the TomTom RIDER range, bikers plan and ride the most exciting winding, mountainous roads, as well as round-trip routes using the glove-friendly 4.3” touchscreen. Bikers can also save the rides that they’ve taken directly on the device.

The new TomTom RIDER 550, which comes with thousands of Point of Interest for motorcyclists, will be available in Europe starting the first week in April for €399, and pre-sales begin from mid-March.
And there’s also the TomTom RIDER 550 Premium Pack, which has all the features of the RIDER 550, plus an accessories pack with a Car Mounting Kit, Anti-Theft Solution and a Protective Carry Case, and is available from specialist retailers for €499.
